Methods of Giving

Many of our donors wish to give generously on an ongoing basis. Monthly Giving allows donors to have their donation deducted each month from their credit card or bank account. By selecting this option, you can easily set up your monthly giving preferences. A tax receipt will be issued at the end of the year and your consistent support allows NRSAC to budget and plan for future programs and services.

Planned Giving

Planned Giving is a way for you to support NSAC by making a commitment to provide funds in the future. Some of the more common types of planned giving include: bequests in your will, charitable remainder trusts and gifts of life insurance, stocks, bonds or real estate. The most common form, making a charitable gift through a bequest in your will, can be done by setting aside a certain dollar amount or leaving a percentage of your estate and/or assets.

If you are considering making a planned gift to NSAC, we would be pleased to meet with you and to recommend next steps. We also encourage consulting with a professional advisor who can tell you about the tax benefits of planned gifts and who will help you put them in place.

Endowment Fund

We are proud to have an endowment fund, the Niagara Victim Services Fund, hosted by the Niagara Community Foundation. This fund allows donors to contribute financially to the future sustainability of NRSAC. Capital is held and invested in perpetuity and the expectation is to grow the monetary value over time so that eventually NSAC will be able to use the investment income to fund core expenses.

If you would like to make a donation to this fund, please designate “Endowment Fund” when remitting your payment. Donating to the Endowment fund is an investment and commitment to the future of the Niagara Sexual Assault Centre.

Why the Butterfly Image

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”

- Maya Angelou

When we talk about transformation, the butterfly image often comes to mind – a beautiful creature soaring through the air. But we need to remember that before getting its wings, the butterfly was a caterpillar that had fought its way out of its cocoon shell to crawl along the ground.

We have all experienced times when we felt trapped and vulnerable and were afraid to emerge from our own cocoons. And that is why we are here. We want to help you begin your journey to healing and growth by supporting you as you spread your wings. Although the journey toward a new life may not be easy, we will work with you as you gain strength and courage along your path to transformation.
